Cheyenne, aka "Dude". 
His dam was bred, and he, foaled by me in MN. He then spent his entire life in Utah with Chris Mellen, who absolutely adored him.  Upon her passing he returned to me for the final year of his life. In that time, he accomplished a breeding and resultant pregnancy that Chris and I had discussed and attempted to plan for nearly a decade. On May 23rd of this year (2023) a lovely chestnut filly was born of the dam Summer Sonatina SDA - 8 months after his passing. A true "Sire of the sire shall be the sire of the dam" breeding! More on her on the Foals page. Sadly she was lost too soon.
Cheyenne was another bold, confident, never-rattled sort, common of this group at large. He was solid, powerful, balanced, willing, and mostly apologetic when he forgot his manners about things more interesting than whatever was at hand.  It is a common theme in these lines that intelligence is above average, and he was no exception. Five of his daughters, all by different dams, are here and each one is incredibly full of personality and the desire to be with a person. Each quick to learn and eager to bond. Soon they will be entering saddle training ages and we will learn more about those skills. Natural abilities observed in the landscape here suggest they are going to be great endurance, ranch, or trail mounts.
