The following article provides a detailed journey through History specific to the Asil Desert Arabian horses of SpiritWind Desert Arabians, LLC. 

An attempt to simplify and "de-code" the many "labels" used to identify horses as they move through time and breeders is offered.

It is the hope that this deeper understanding will enhance an appreciation for the original source and essence of the Arabian breed at large.

It is also my hope to emphasize the need for serious and dedicated conservation, and preservation, of the Asil Arabian - the horse responsible for so much in the history of our world and in the development of many other breeds of horses we know and love today.
